A House Is Not a Home

My Top 10 Household Ride or Dies:

  1. Gloves – The amount of times that the germophobe in me has been saved from feeling an ick because I have a box of gloves on standby…bless!
  2. Bleach – I think this is a given, but this is one household product that I’ll gladly let shorten my lifespan. It’s the holy grail of cleaning products to me. Once the bleach is applied, the surface is as fresh as new.
  3. Baking soda/vinegar –  a solution that is versatile (e.g., stain remover, fruit fly repellant, rust fighter, a mix of this, water, and hydrogen peroxide is what I use to sanitize things going in my mouth, etc.)
  4. Ziploc bags (the sliders) – I use them for traveling, disposing of gunk in the kitchen, storage…the list goes on
  5. A speaker –  My neighbors haven’t filed a noise complaint yet, and for that, I’m so grateful. But when I need to decompress I will blast it and zone out, no matter the time!
  6. A dry erase board and marker- Sometimes, I need to jot down reminders and create a to-do list on the spot. This has been the most efficient solution for me and my household.
  7. Roomba – I don’t need to elaborate, and they have mops too babe.
  8. Wallflower fragrance plugs – A good fragrance turns a house into a home. Coming home to a clean smell is everything.
  9. Clorox Wipes – I use these for household appliances like my toothbrush holder, light switches, doorknobs, and microwave.
  10. Aromatherapy oil diffuser – It helps me breathe and sleep better; relaxation is always on 10 with the aromatherapy going.

Miscellaneous items: rubber bands, bobby pins, tape, glue, stain remover for mi ropa, throwaway towels, anything that serves as a pet deodorizer

Reflection Points:

  1. Do your items often change or are they fairly consistent?
  2. Which household items can you not live without? Which household hacks have saved your life?
