I just finished Love Island and am so happy that Serena and Kordell won. Her being a fellow Virgo queen made it that much easier to support. I have not watched all of the cast as I know there are different countries with multiple seasons and a couple of spin-offs. However, I respect that she took her time opening up to him and ensuring he was right for her. She said multiple times that she’s a “slow burner”, and I can 100% relate. It takes time to get to know someone and figure out intentions, and in the villa when things move quickly and playing the part often gets rewarded, she went at the pace comfortable for her. She could’ve jumped ship at several points throughout the season if she sincerely wasn’t interested, but her actions spoke volumes. Slow and steady wins the race. I like winning and don’t like my time being wasted.
Other people in the villa questioned her feelings for him because she didn’t dive in head first, but that doesn’t equate to long-term stability or genuineness. His boys were trying to steer him away, and he was not going. So clearly he enjoyed letting things develop from a friendship. We saw how fast things burned for the casa girls, and none of those couples stayed together. Speaking of the casa girls, Serena gave classy vibes through and through while dealing with Ms. Daia (beautiful btw). She kept her feelings directed towards Kordell, even though I feel like Daia was poking the bear. Her reaction to Kordell ending things with her told me everything I needed to know. I didn’t hold the decision against him for bringing someone back to the villa from the casa because they both discussed keeping things open. But, I can understand how Serena’s feelings were hurt after everything that transpired. She did make a good point that he could’ve handled it more respectfully. In finality, the couple took a different approach than what I’m used to watching and won it all. I love that for them.
The honorable mention for me is Liv!!! She’s so outspoken and stands her ground. She hits the nail on the head so many times throughout the season, and I always valued her insights. After a certain point, I realized that she was there only for friendships, and that made her even more entertaining. This was one of the more enjoyable seasons with a well-rounded cast. Who were your faves from this season and why? Who did you expect to win?
